Biography
Pejman Mowlaee was born in Bandar Anzali, Iran, in March 1983. He received his Electrical Engineering (B.Sc.) degree with straight honors from Guilan University, Rasht, Iran in 2005. He received his M.Sc. degrees in Telecommunication Engineering in signal processing with straight honors from Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2007. He received his Ph.D. degree at Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark in 2010 where he was a research assistant at Multimedia and information signal processing ( MISP) under supervision of Prof. Søren Holdt Jensen and Dr. Mads Græsbøll Christensen. He is now a post-doctoral researcher for Digital Signal Processing in Audiology (AUDIS) at Institute of Communication Acoustics (IKA), Ruhr-University Bochum, (RUB), Germany. His research interests include digital signal processing theory and methods with application to speech processing and machine learning, in particular single/multi-channel speech separation and enhancement, speech coding and robust speech recognition. He has been a visiting researcher at University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu, Finland in November 2009.
Mr.Mowlaee has received several awards during his academic career, to name a few: Young researcher's Award for his M.Sc. study in 2005 and 2006 at Iran University of Science and Technology, Selected as a talent student with top class at Amirkabir university of Technology in 2008 and 2009. He was awarded the best M.Sc. thesis in the nation-wide contest among all electrical students in the country with best thesis price awarded by “National Scientific Students' Organization of Electrical Engineering" ( NSOEE)”. His PhD work was supported by the Marie Curie EST-SIGNAL Fellowship. He was Selected as Elite in the country by “National Elite Association”.
