Mellin transformation as a new filter for cochlear implants
Summary:
The main aim of the proposed project is to develop a framework for a next generation of cochlear implants (CI) processors. We suggest novel methods to improve speech processing for CI-users and thus improving their quality of life. The specific aim of this project is to demonstrate that a dynamic, compressive and nonlinear filter bank is superior to the processors currently used. Thus, it can be expected that the signal to noise ratio of speech can be increased and relevant features can be enhanced by improving their contrast in noise.
