Evaluation of noise reduction techniques for hearing aids in people with severe hearing loss
Summary:
No published studies have yet demonstrated significant advantages for single channel noise reduction (SCNR) in hearing aids (HA) when measuring speech recognition, although substantial benefits for listening quality and comfort have been shown. However, SCNR is effective for cochlear implant (CI) users and might also be effective for hearing aid users with more severe hearing loss. The aim of this project is to explore the benefits of single channel noise reduction in people with severe and profound hearing loss, using hearing aids and cochlear implants.
