BE-CTC
The Cochlear Europe is a research and development centre working on cochlear implant development and other implantable hearing solutions. In close collaboration with our head office in Sydney, Australia, we are working on the following key components of implantable hearing systems:
- Implant hardware (packaging, manufacturing technology, electrode design, etc),
- Speech processor hardware (custom chip development, electronic design, etc),
- Speech processor firmware (speech coding, noise suppression, etc),
- Clinical software (fitting, electrophysiology, self fitting application etc).
To support these activities we have close collaborations with a number of key technology providers in Flanders, such as Philips Leuven and IMEC. CTC Europe is part of DSP valley, a network of DSP companies in Belgium, and Nexus, a European network on microsystem technology. In addition to the R&D activities we coordinate a number of research projects in the field of fitting, noise suppression, speech coding, etc. in collaboration with external academic partners.
